Danville Middle School
Extensive site work and new building construction. Including a rolling site bordered by a certified wetland area. The building pad had to be built up 9’ at one end of the building. The school was constructed to hold 900 students in the classrooms but the common spaces were built for 1200 students for future expansion.
Challenges
Dealing with the sitework and the unsuitable soils that were found; in addition we started in January. We had to utilize lime stabilization in order to proceed with our work.
Relevancy
Completed very cost effective and productive building construction much lower than state standards while still providing excellent learning environment for students.
