Hamilton County E-911 Dispatch Center
Addition and renovation to the existing Sheriff’s office included first floor and basement. The project included E-911, emergency management agency, a crime lab, evidence storage, and administration office areas. Technology and electrical systems were a major focus of the design and construction of this 24/7 public safety facility and include multiple levels of redundancy.
Coordinating the move of all dispatch equipment and technology wiring without violating the integrity of the current operating dispatch was crucial. Extensive shoring had to be carefully designed to excavate the new basement on a confined site and protect nearby underground utilities.
This addition gives the 911 Dispatchers a larger area to run a 24-hour operation. Efficient custom air handler units were installed on the roof to save space within the building, as well as a dry fire suppression system installed to protect expensive equipment in case of a fire. A new investigating lab was also created for the detectives.
