Hobart High School

New 324,474 SF High School located on a green site, featuring a large gymnasium, and a 40,000 SF field house. Extras include a “Great Hall” with vaulted ceilings and large storefront windows and doors, and a first-class football stadium as well as other athletic facilities.

Challenges

Because of the multiple jurisdictional strikes, a double gate policy had to be implemented in order to allow work to continue. An extensive dust control management plan was established to cooperate with IDEM and local City Officials. The plan entailed installation and maintenance of several wheel wash areas, frequent cleaning of the parking lots and rigid maintenance of the erosion control fabrics.

Relevancy

This new high school will allow for current and future growth within the school corporation. It has the technology to support the 21st century curriculum needs and incorporates a complete electronic door security and card access system for a safe school environment. The state-of-the-art sports facilities also include an artificial football field that requires less maintenance.
