RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Project Coordinator's primary responsibilities are to assist the Project Manager(s) in all aspects of the construction projects(s) including but not limited to, contract preparation, meeting minutes, project scheduling, submittals, Certificate of Insurance procurement, plan and spec distribution, contract and change order administration, project accounting, data entry into Procore and periodic site visits.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES

 

1.   Attend construction and design meetings as requested.  Record and publish meeting minutes.

2.  Assist Project Manager(s) with schedule creation and/or posting along with distribution.

3.  Prepare contracts and scopes of work under the direction of the Project Manager(s). 

4.  Obtain all necessary permits and licenses.

5.  Requisition supplies and materials to complete construction projects.

6.  Assist Project Manager(s) with preparation and submission of budget estimates and process and cost tracking reports. 

7.  Coordinate the submittal and RFI process within Procore.  Manage and maintain current drawing logs.

8.  Assist Project Manager(s) with planning, organizing, and directing activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of                      structures, facilities, and systems. 

9.  Assist Project Manager(s) and/or Field Personnel in investigating damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper      procedures are being carried out.

10.  Coordinate the collection and distribution of Operations and Maintenance Manuals at project close. 

11.  Coordinate and review monthly Pay Application from Contractors for Project Manager(s) approval.  Submit monthly billings to the Owner        for payment. 

12.  Order temporary construction equipment and material such as jobsite trailers, port-o-lets, electric meters, signage, etc.  

13.  Must be able to work for multiple Project Managers concurrently.

EXPERIENCE

 

1.  Building and Construction - Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of commercial projects,       buildings or other structures. 

2.  Mathematics - Knowledge of general construction math.

3.  Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings,          and models. 

4.  English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English Language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules          of composition, and grammar.

5.  Public Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or          national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and intuitions.   

6.  Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation,      human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.  

7.  Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.  This includes            customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. 

8.  Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.   

9.  Economics and Accounting - Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices of the construction industry, reporting of          financial data. 

10.  Candidate must be detailed and thorough. 

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience in a construction environment, experience working in a Project Coordinator or Project Engineer role preferred.  Experience with project organization utilizing CSI codes is a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Project, Word, and Excel, along with Gmail, Google Drive, and various Google Apps is required; being familiar with Project Management software applications like Procore, Expedition, Prolog, Constructware, etc. and PDF annotation is required.  Familiarity with Procore is a plus.
